WHY WE WANT CHANGE?

For many years, Butuan City has been under the same leadership, yet persistent challenges remain unresolved. Issues like high taxes, limited water supply, recurring flooding, difficult transportation, exorbitant fines, and a lack of transparency continue to hold the city back. Despite some efforts, progress has been slow, and many residents feel the need for a new direction.

We want change because fresh leadership can bring innovative ideas, renewed energy, and a stronger commitment to inclusivity and accountability. By embracing new perspectives and proactive governance, Butuan can overcome these hurdles, unlock its potential, and build a brighter, more resilient future for everyone.

Through efforts of Ching Plaza and her late husband, the then City Mayor Figurado Plaza, Butuan has been provided with the three statuses: (1) Highly Urbanized City, (2) Regional Center of Caraga, (3) One of the first special economic zones of the Philippines. These three will become the cornerstone of Ching Plaza's platform for change.

Unlocking the full potential of Butuan City.

Currently, Butuan City is under the following three statuses or classifications, however, the LGU hasn’t fully realized and made use of such. It is aimed that once Ching Plaza is elected as City Mayor, she will push for Butuan’s growth through utilizing the power that it already has in its hands.

Highly Urbanized City

A status made possible under the leadership of then City Mayor Lado Plaza, Ching Plaza’s late husband.

Regional Center of Caraga Region

Made possible through the creation of Caraga Region during Ching Plaza’s term as Congresswoman.

Among the first Special Economic Zone in the Philippines

Stipulated under the Special Economic Zones Act which was co-authored by Ching Plaza in Congress.

The country’s Environment-Friendly Special Economic Zone Capital

Slowly becoming a metropolitan called Metro Butuan!

As a parent you do not have to worry about your children’s education because under Ching Plaza’s leadership, education will be free as well as the school supplies and transportation. When you or your children get sick, you can avail of free hospitalization and medication.

Through the creation of ecozones, there will be more companies coming to the city to invest and these companies will be needing a lot of workers. Also, even if you do not have work, you can still avail of free medical services in the city.
